Arctic Monkeys have registered a new company and relaunched their website amid speculation they are set to record a new album.

Earlier this week, it was noted by fans that Arctic Monkeys had removed all references to their 2022 album, The Car, from their homepage, which has been replaced by a logo, signalling that the chapter has come to a close. They also added a link to their newsletter on the homepage.

This change to their site came after the X account, Has It Leaked, which has a history of reporting on industry secrets, posted on August 5th: “Arctic Monkeys, despite solo projects, studio sessions booked for November.”

Then, on August 6th, Alex Turner, Matt Helders, Jamie Cook and Nick O’Malley registered a new limited liability partnership, Bang Bang Recordings LLP, on Companies House. It comes after they previously dissolved Bang Bang Tour Services LLP on April 1st, suggesting they don’t have any plans to tour in the near future.

Arctic Monkeys have not performed since concluding their last tour in support of their seventh album, The Car, in Dublin in late 2023. Since then, no band member has released solo material, and they’ve all kept relatively low profiles. However, bassist O’Malley played with touring guitarist Tom Rowley at the latter’s first headline solo date at Crookes Social Club in Sheffield in June.

Meanwhile, in May, Turner made a rare public appearance at the Music Week Awards to honour the band’s manager, Ian McAndrew, in London.

In a four-and-a-half star review of The Car, Far Out wrote: “Thematically it’s a lot of classic mag cover shoots, travel-size Champagne flutes, and patent leather dancing shoes. In short, it’s a whirlwind of imagery that can bewilder, but more often than not, it dazzles. And when you find yourself at home in this holiday villa of an album, you look back at your stay and never want to leave.”
