Will Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 22 Ever Air?

The Bachelorette fans may never find out whether or not Taylor Frankie Paul found a new man after Disney, the parent company of ABC, canceled season 22 of The Bachelorette. According to multiple reports, the network made the decision following the emergence of a leaked 2023 video showing Paul in a physical altercation with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a spokesperson from Disney stated in March 2026, just days before the scheduled premiere. The cancellation followed a broader pause in production for season 5 of Paul’s hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, amid an ongoing domestic violence investigation.
Why Was the Season Cancelled?
The controversy stems from a video published by TMZ, which captured a 2023 incident in which Paul was seen throwing barstools at Mortensen while a child was present. Mortensen alleged in the footage that the child was struck during the altercation. In 2023, Paul was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child. She eventually pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, with other charges dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Will the Footage Ever See the Light of Day?
As of now, it remains unclear if ABC will ever air the filmed season. While some industry insiders initially suggested that the high production costs might force the network to move forward, the severity of the situation has left the project in limbo. Reality TV executive Rob Mills described the status of the season as “day-to-day,” leaving little hope for a near-term release.
Meanwhile, the future of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives remains equally uncertain. While some reports suggest cast members are hesitant to continue working with Paul, other sources claim that production delays were not related to interpersonal conflict. For now, the reality star’s television future remains firmly on hold.
