Yungblud revealed on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs that he was wearing trousers once owned by Iggy Pop and a necklace gifted to him by Ozzy Osbourne.

The singer posed topless for photos outside the awards ceremony at the UBS Arena in New York on September 7th and wearing an extremely long pair of leather trousers paired with a bold crucifix necklace.

As he told Nylon magazine: “I’ve actually got Iggy Pop’s leather pants on. Richard from Chrome Hearts said if you can fit in them you can wear them.”

Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans spotted and recognised the distinctive necklace he was wearing as once belonging to Osbourne, with the Prince of Darkness having gifted Yungblud the accessory at his final concert, Back to the Beginning, only weeks before his passing in July.

Yungblud previously made reference to the gifting of the necklace when he paid tribute to Osbourne after his death, as he said: “I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own.”

The singer clearly saw wearing the necklace as a fitting ode to Osbourne, as he later performed a tribute to the Black Sabbath frontman, alongside the likes of Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, during the ceremony.

Honouring the heavy metal pioneer, who passed away at the age of 76 on July 22nd, they sang a medley consisting of ‘Changes’, ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ and ‘Crazy Train’, in a poignant moment that proved to be a highlight of the night, and left audience members such as Ariana Grande in awe.
