After the recent passing of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne has thanked fans for their continued support in her time of grief.
The Black Sabbath frontman and global metal icon passed away in July at the age of 76. Not three weeks before, Black Sabbath reunited for a final goodbye at their Back To The Beginning show in Birmingham.
At Osbourne’s funeral on July 30th, the funeral procession did a lap around Birmingham city centre, with fans in their thousands attending to pay tribute to the musician. At one point, Sharon was spotted getting out of the car to admire the displays. She looked frail and was held up by her family as she wept.
Now, Sharon has taken to Instagram to share one of her first public statements since her husband’s death. The statement was attached to a video of her and her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, partaking in falconry. She began, “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media.”
She continued: “Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”
Sharon was honest, admitting she is still “finding her footing,” but in the meantime, she wanted to “share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with.”
She said of the birds, “The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”
She signed off, “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”
