On June 18th, Neil Young began his summer European tour at the Dalhalla in Rättvik, Sweden, as he prepares to headline Glastonbury later this month.

Over the next few weeks, Young and The Chrome Hearts will traverse through Europe for a series of huge shows, which will also take them to Bergen, Copenhagen, Dublin, Brussels, Berlin, Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart, London, Paris and Glastonbury.

For the most part of his tour, Young is playing huge outdoor spaces, such as Hyde Park in London, but Dalhalla is intimate by his standards, with a maximum capacity of 6,000, and is located within a former limestone quarry near Lake Siljan.

Young began his 15-song set with a solo rendition of ‘Sugar Mountain’, which he penned as a teenager and later released as the B-side to ‘Cinnamon Girl’. He also aired ‘Be The Rain’ for the first time in more than a decade, and ‘The Needle and The Damage Done’ was performed by the Canadian for the first time since 2019.

During the performance, he rolled out many of his most beloved cuts, such as ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)’, ‘Cinnamon Girl’, ‘Harvest Moon’, ‘Like A Hurricane’ and ‘Old Man’.

His set also included the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young songs, ‘Looking Forward’ and ‘Name of Love’ before triumphantly closing with his classic cut, ‘Rockin’ In the Free World’, according to Setlist FM.

Young’s tour will arrive in the United Kingdom on June 28th for a headline performance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, marking his first appearance at the festival since 2009.

In early January, Young confirmed he would play Worthy Farm after previously withdrawing from the lineup due to “corporate control”. Upon reversing the decision, he explained, “Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved. Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!”

On July 11th, 2025, he’ll headline BST Hyde Park in London for the first time since co-headlining the event with Bob Dylan in 2019. Young will be joined by a series of special guests at the festival, including Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, Everyone Says Hi and Alice Merton.
