SAG Awards 2025: The full list of winners

The SAG Awards took place last night, honouring the best performances of the past year. Voted on by the more than 150,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild, the ceremony is usually one of the best indicators of where the Oscars will land. Last night turned an unpredictable awards season into pure chaos, unseating favourites, bolstering those who had faltered in recent weeks, and generally heightening the anticipation for next Sunday to a fever pitch.
Timothée Chalamet won ‘Best Male Actor in a Leading Role’ for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, suggesting that Adrien Brody, who has long been a frontrunner for his portrayal of a Hungarian architect and Holocaust survivor in Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, might not take home the coveted little gold man after all.
Meanwhile, Demi Moore scooped up the award for ‘Best Female Actor in a Leading Role’ for her portrayal of an aging actor in Coralie Fargeat’s body horror film The Substance, regaining her footing as the frontrunner for the Oscars after Mikey Madison picked up several awards for Sean Baker’s Anora in recent weeks.
Conclave looks more powerful than ever with a win for ‘Best Ensemble Cast’ (the closest approximation of the ‘Best Picture’ category for an awards show dedicated to performances). Following the film’s ‘Best Picture’ win at the Baftas earlier this month, the film has momentum, though Anora and The Brutalist remain strong contenders.
The SAG Awards did help narrow the field for the ‘Best Picture’ race. Jon M Chu’s musical Wicked, James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez appear to be out of contention. None of them have won a guild award, and no film has ever won the ‘Best Picture’ Oscar without nabbing at least one from the Producers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, or SAG since those awards ceremonies have existed.
The only categories that look like locks are the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ awards, which have gone to Kieren Culkin for Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain and Zoe Saldaña for Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez, respectively, pretty consistently throughout this awards season.
