Oscars 2024: The complete winners list – updating live!

The 96th Academy Awards will be live on March 10th from Los Angeles, and the great and the good from the world of cinema will be welcomed to celebrate another stellar year of filmmaking. The Oscars 2024 are here.
This year looks to be one of the best in decades, as several incredible films look to battle it out for the top prize of ‘Best Picture’. While the biggest cinematic event of 2023 was undoubtedly the dual release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer – both of which are represented – the rest of the nominees will put up stiff competition. Barbie might have been a commercial heavyweight, but it is Oppenheimer which could sweep the awards.
Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, the wild and wonderful Poor Things from Yorgos Lanthimos and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon are just three more huge releases which dominated the cinematic landscape last year, with The Holdovers thought to be some critics’ dark horse for the night’s biggest prize.
Those nominated for ‘Best Picture’ sync up with ‘Best Director’, with Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Glazer, Yorgos Lanthimos and Justine Triet making up the nominees for the prestigious award.
Elsewhere, ‘Best Actor’ will be contested between Cillian Murphy, who could become the first Irish actor to win the award, Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright, while ‘Best Supporting Actor’ is also a tight affair. In that category, Mark Ruffalo, Ryan Gosling, Robert Downey Jr, Sterling K. Brown, and Robert De Niro duke it out.
‘Best Actress’ is another category that is perhaps too close to call. Annette Benning, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Hüller, Carey Mulligan and Margot Robbie are the nominees for that Oscar, while Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster and Da’Vine Joy Randolph make up the nominations for ‘Best Supporting Actress’.
The prestigious awards show is being hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel. A dab hand at hosting such events, having taken the reins on three separate occasions so far, there is a lot of fun to be had. Kimmel also presented the ceremony in 2017 and 2018 before returning to the position in 2023 following Chris Rock’s infamous turn in 2022. In a statement, he said: “I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times.”
