The suspense from Acorn TV’s latest mystery series is keeping audiences on the edge of their seats. Starring Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson, the buzz surrounding You’re Killing Me has only just begun. As with any television production defined by high stakes, competitive tension, and a touch of murder, viewers are already clamoring for news regarding a potential second season.

The series follows novelist Allie, played by Shields, and her unlikely ally, a podcaster and aspiring writer named Andi, portrayed by Williamson. Set in a quaint New England town, the show centers on the unfolding mysteries that force these two very different women to collaborate. The hilariously toxic dynamic between the leads is a central pillar of the show, a theme that Shields highlighted during the red carpet premiere in New York City.

“Well, the butting of the heads was what made it really interesting because you’ve got two generations, very different, and they can learn from each other,” Shields noted. “She makes fun of me, I make fun of her, and it’s in that that the dialogue starts, and it’s funny. It’s funny to not take those differences so seriously, but actually, learn from the other one.”

Williamson echoed this sentiment, noting that despite the generational divide, their characters find a necessary synergy. “I think she has a really hard time at first, just in terms of their generational differences,” Williamson explained. “Her mom left when she was so young, so I think, at first, she finds Allie’s character really, really annoying, but then realizes she’s kind of exactly what Andi needs in terms of her career, in terms of her romantic relationships, and then in terms of a motherly figure.”

Will There Be a Second Season?

At the time of publication, Acorn TV has not officially renewed You’re Killing Me for a second season. The first season consists of six episodes, which premiered on May 18, 2026.

Despite the lack of a formal announcement, there is optimism behind the scenes. Showrunner and creator Robin Bernheim expressed a strong desire to continue the story during the season 1 premiere. “There’s some stuff about how my generation relates to things like AI and how the generation that is younger, how they relate to it,” Bernheim shared, hinting at potential thematic directions for future episodes.
