One of the world’s biggest video games, Call of Duty, is set to be turned into a huge Paramount picture with Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg attached to the project.

Sheridan, the director and creator of many TV hits in recent years, including Yellowstone, will work alongside American actor, director, writer, and producer Berg. The latter is a huge name in the action world, known for military thrillers like Lone Survivor.

Thus far, plot and casting details remain under wraps. However, as per Deadline, the upcoming film will deliver “the hallmarks of what players love about the games”. Berg and Sherdian will co-write, and Berg will direct.

The movie is set to attract many video game fans; it has consistently remained the number one best-selling video game series in the US for 16 years, selling over 500 million copies globally.

Sheridan has been the mastermind behind some stellar series with A-list casts, such as Tulsa King, which was led by Sylvester Stallone. He has also worked with a litany of stars, including Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, and Jeremy Renner.

Berg has previously written, directed, and produced The Mosquito Bowl, a World War II drama for Netflix based on Buzz Bissinger’s bestselling book. It recently wrapped production. He will also executive produce the upcoming Friday Night Lights reboot.

The pair are lifelong friends and collaborators. Previously, they worked together on projects including Hell or High Water, which received four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. They also partnered on Wind River.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Sheridan is set to leave his deal at Paramount and make the move to NBCUniversal. Sheridan will be switching production houses for a film deal that will begin next year, although his television deal will remain with Paramount until 2028. He has yet to remark on the change.
