Jeff Lynne‘s ELO have announced details of their final ever concert which is set to take place at Hyde Park in London next summer.

The iconic rock group made their return to the stage at the very same venue in 2014, therefore, it’s a fitting location for Lynne to bid farewell. ELO are currently on the road across North America on a 31-date tour, but before they end their story, they are preparing to hold one final party in the United Kingdom.

ELO’s current tour is appropriately called ‘Over and Out’, and at 76-years-old, Lynne is ready to hang his hat. Their final show will take place at Hyde Park on July 13th, 2025, with special guests set to be announced in the near future.

The ongoing tour marked the first by the band in five years which was largely due to the pandemic bringing live music to a halt. ELO last performed in the United Kingdom back in 2019 when they set sail on an arena tour which included four shows at London’s The O2 Arena, as well as three concerts in Lynne’s hometown, Birmingham.

In a statement, Lynne said of ELO’s final show: “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘We’re gonna do it one more time!’”

The gig is part of the annual BST Hyde Park concert series, which sees many of the biggest names in Europe perform in London each summer. This year, Kylie, Morgan Wallen, Robbie Williams, SZA, Kings of Leon, and Stevie Nicks were among the headliners.

As it stands, Lynne is the only BST Hyde Park headliner announced for 2025. Organisers are thrilled with securing his booking, Jim King, CEO of European festivals at AEG Presents who oversee BST Hyde Park, said in a statement: “Jeff Lynne’s ELO are loved the world over. The live shows are nothing short of extraordinary and a testament to the incredible catalogue of hits we’ve enjoyed for over 50 years.”

King continued: “Hosting their final performance at BST Hyde Park is a true honour. We’re excited to be part of this special moment in music history.”

Lynne is the only member of the original ELO line-up who is currently part of the band. Keyboardist Richard Tandy was initially part of the group’s reunion, but stopped touring in 2017, and sadly passed away earlier this year.

The former Traveling Wilburys musician announced the death of his former bandmate on May 1st, stating, “It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of my long-time collaborator and dear friend Richard Tandy. He was a remarkable musician & friend and I’ll cherish the lifetime of memories we had together”.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO ‘Over and Out’ tour:

In a four-and-a-half star review of the ‘Over and Out’ tour at the Capitol One Arena in Washington D.C., Far Out wrote: “Despite the musical mastermind’s role being a bit more muted than usual, that didn’t stop the show from being anything less than brilliant.”

The gushing review continued: “Lynne wasn’t just the kind of musician trying to just write a catchy tune back in the day. He was tapping into something far more emotional, and by the time the final sounds of ‘Mr Blue Sky’ rang out, the standing ovation the group received assured them we would never forget the way they made millions of fans feel when they first crashlanded on Earth.”

The North American dates of the ongoing tour is set to conclude this week with four final shows planned, beginning in Arizona on October 21st. Jeff Lynne’s ELO will also perform in Sacramento before bowing out with two shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.
