Following the release of his new single, ‘Pink Skies’, American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan has claimed his forthcoming album will arrive “any day now”.

While there’s still no official release date, Bryan previously confirmed it would be called The Great American Bar Scene, and would be shared at some point over the summer months. Now, the wait seems to be almost over, as Bryan has confirmed the album has finally reached the stage of completion.

Although it regularly takes months for an album to be rolled out after the recording process is finished, that’s not Bryan’s style. Last year, he surprise released his eponymous third LP without any singles or promotion, but it still topped the Billboard 200 in the United States, and his Kacey Musgraves collaboration, ‘I Remember Everything’, also went to number one.

Since then, he released the Boys of Faith EP, and has toured incessantly across North America, playing multiple nights at arenas in most major cities in America and Canada while working on finishing The Great American Bar Scene.

After ‘Pink Skies’ arrived on streaming platforms on May 24th, a modern roots track finds Bryan mourning the loss of youth, and his regret for taking those special days for granted, the Oklahoman shared an update with fans.

Taking to his X account, he wrote: “Guys I’m teasing no body, I write and record music reckless and fast, just got the record finished so it’ll be dropped on someone’s head any day now I truly want to just say thank you for being so kind and patient, I’m really freaking grateful lately”.

In response to a question from a fan about what to expect from the forthcoming record, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter replied: “16 songs and a poem! Proudest I’ve ever been of a piece of work.” He also said The Great American Bar Scene is “a slow one, I’d say depressed and hopeful summer vacation.”

Two months ago, Bryan delighted the crowd at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn when he welcomed Bruce Springsteen and Maggie Rogers to the stage to perform ‘Revival’. Springsteen, who was touring at the time with the E-Street Band, made the journey to New York from Los Angeles solely for the performance.

Rogers joined Bryan earlier in the evening to perform their collaboration ‘Dawns’, returned to the stage with Springsteen to tear through a rendition of the unreleased track ‘Sandpaper’ before closing the show with the hit ‘Revival’. Bryan’s tour is set to conclude with another date at the Barclays Centre on December 13th.
