The White Lotus has added Steve Coogan and Caleb Jonte Edwards to the fourth season of the hit HBO series.
As reported by Variety, Coogan will join the new season, alongside the already announced line-up of Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka. Despite much speculation online, these are the only confirmed castings so far.
The new season will take place in France, and include a sub-plot that extends into Paris. Much of the season will take place along the French Riviera.
As with all three previous seasons, Mike White is the writer, director, and executive producer. David Bernad and Mark Kamine also executive produce.
Coogan is best known for his character work, chiefly as Norfolk personality Alan Partridge, most recently in 2025’s How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge) for BBC One.
He has also appeared in films such as Night at the Museum, Philomena, and, most recently, Saipan, which is a film chronicling the tumultuous relationship between Manchester United footballer Roy Keane and Ireland manager Mick McCarthy.
Edwards is a lesser-known star; White Lotus will mark one of his first onscreen credits, following an episode of the Australian crime drama Black Snow.
Season three of White Lotus was set at a resort in Thailand, and starred the likes of Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, and Parker Posey.
The critically-aclaimed season saw the controversial departure of Cristóbal Tapia de Veer. Though he had won two Emmys for his contribution to the show, de Veer and White butted heads one too many times, leading to his departure.
De Veer claimed that White believes he is “unprofessional” because he chose to go against the creative vision of others to score the series. However, De Veer described the experience as a “good struggle”.
