Lorde surprised fans at her show in Los Angeles, inviting Brat superstar Charli XCX to share the stage with her.

The Australian indie-pop star Lorde is currently undertaking her Ultrasound world tour, which took to Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on October 18th.

Last summer, Charli XCX topped the charts with Brat, which included ‘Girl, So Confusing’, a song about Charli being unsure about whether another fellow artist liked her. The musician was later confirmed to be Lorde. The pair then united on a remix of the track, allowing Lorde to share her perspective on the situation. They have performed it live together before, at Coachella.

On October 18th, the pair reunited on stage again. Having performed 22 songs, Lorde came back on for the encore with British superstar Charli XCX in tow.

Together, they passed lyrics back and forth about the complication and inherent competitivity of friendship in the limelight, singing, “It’s you and me on the coin / The industry loves to spend / And when we put this to bed / The internet will go crazy / I’m glad I know how you feel / ‘Cause I ride for you, Charli.”

Previously reflecting on the remix, Lorde shared, “Doing the remix together and meeting her in that place of rugged vulnerability and cracking open the thing… People responded really well to that – I was like ‘OK, cool, this is a good thing to be doing.”

After, Lorde finished the high-energy set with her song, ‘Ribs’.

Previously detailing the importance of the remix album in Charli XCX’s discography, Far Out wrote, “As she and Lorde literally “working it out on the remix”, the full circle moment of ‘Girl So Confusing’ feels oddly healing as Charli is using Brat not only to articulate complex feelings but also to work through them.”

Lorde has plenty of stops left on her Ultrasound tour, which will take her further into North America, and then across to Europe and the UK. She will end things in February 2026.
