The latest Saturday Night Live episode saw Lily Allen feature as the musical guest, with Dakota Johnson joining her as a special guest.
On December 13th, the star appeared on the late-night show to perform two of her tracks from her 2025 release, West End Girl. The album was a biting, raw, and honest confessional expose about the breakdown of her marriage with Stranger Things actor, David Harbour, due to his infidelity.
She first performed ‘Sleepwalking’, the third song of the new project, which opens with the lines, “You won’t love me, you won’t leave me / You don’t touch me, still so needy.”
Echoing the theme of the song, Allen walked around a makeshift bedroom as she sang the tragic ballad, while pink neon lights glowed “West End Girl” over her head.
Her second song, as introduced by the host of the episode, Josh O’Connor, was ‘Madeline’, a track which sees her reckoning with the other woman in the equation directly.
From behind a curtained screen, a figure can be seen lying on the bed, reading out some of the texts that were sent to the ‘Smile’ singer. Eventually, the figure leaves the bedroom and cuts through the curtain to finish with the words “Love and light,” before kissing Allen on the cheek. The mystery woman was played by Dakota Johnson.
Recently, Allen revealed that West End Girl could become a West End play, telling Jimmy Fallon on his late-night show that she has “definitely been having some conversations with people about it.”
Allen will be touring her new album extensively in 2026. She will begin with a theatrical run in March, where she will play the entire project in full. Following this, she will also round out her time on the road with plenty of arena dates.
