The B-52s announce 2025 Las Vegas residency dates

Legendary new wave band The B-52s have announced that they will be extending their residency at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas with five extra dates in April 2025.
The Athens, Georgia group are currently preparing to come together for three dates at the venue later this month, with an additional date in December also scheduled in their hometown for the inaugural show at the Classic Center’s new arena venue. Support acts for the show have been announced as fellow Athens psychedelic rock group Of Montreal, and mashup artist DJ Cummerbund.
This announcement comes after the band had previously stated that they would cease touring at the beginning of 2023, having played a farewell tour alongside KC & the Sunshine Band that came to a close in January of that year at the Classic Center.
The band, best known for hits such as ‘Rock Lobster’, ‘Love Shack’ and ‘Roam’, will consist of a trio of original members in Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson, after founding member Keith Strickland retired from performing in 2013. The band’s fifth founding member, Ricky Wilson, passed away in 1985.
The B-52s have not released any new music since their seventh studio record, 2008’s Funplex, but have continued to gain attraction for their live performances and Las Vegas residencies, with this 2025 string of dates being their sixth stint as the Nevada hotspot.
With the continued success of the residency looking to continue, the trio have also recently played two Halloween shows in Washington DC and Chicago, as well as appearing at a benefit concert to commemorate the 100th birthday of former US President Jimmy Carter, where they appeared alongside several other artists including Drive-By Truckers, Maren Morris and Angélique Kidjo.
Vocalist Pierson has also recently released new solo music, with her album Radios and Rainbows having been released earlier in 2024 as a follow-up to her 2015 debut Guitars and Microphones. The singer also performed a number of shows in support of the record, including a free concert in Cape Cod in August of this year.
Tickets for the 2025 dates of the B-52s Las Vegas residency will go on pre-sale on Thursday, 14th November, with the general sale following a day later on Friday, 15th November.
