Ozzy Osbourne has shared more of his plans surrounding the upcoming and highly anticipated “final” Black Sabbath show later this year. As the show sold out in around 16 minutes with fans scrambling to secure their spot, more information has now been revealed.
When Black Sabbath announced the momentous show earlier this month, including a mammoth lineup of special guests like Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains and more, fans went wild.
After Osbourne cancelled shows in 2023, the chance to see him live on July 5th in his hometown of Birmingham is being billed as the final performance the rocker will give.
However, through his past cancellations, the topic of his health has come up time and time again. As he struggles with Parkinson’s disease, fans have wondered to what extent his will be performing with his old band at that final show.
In the latest episode of his Ozzy Speaks show on SiriusXM, he opened up about this. “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable,” he said.
He also discussed the adjustments he has to make for day-to-day life now. “I am trying to get back on my feet,” he said, after the recent revelation that he can no longer walk as a result of his disease. He added, “When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”
However, Sharon Osbourne, his wife and manager, confirmed that his voice remains the same. She said, “Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”
