On June 6th, Sam Fender is set to play the biggest headline concert of his career at the London Stadium with 80,000 in attendance, and ahead of the show, the venue has issued key information to ticket holders.
The show at the London Stadium marks the start of a busy summer for Fender, who is also set to play three huge hometown shows at St James’ Park, the home of his beloved Newcastle United, next week. He also has massive outdoor concerts in Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh in the calendar for August.
The London Stadium have now confirmed that their Stadium Island will open at 16:00pm before doors open an hour later at 5:00pm for both general admission and hospitality.
The first support act, CMAT, will take to the stage at 6:15pm. However, the London Stadium has not confirmed when Olivia Dean will begin her set or when Fender will begin his headline performance.
Regarding entry to the London Stadium, they said in a statement: “Please note, you will only be able to enter the Stadium Island via the Bridge number on your ticket, so check your details, whether you are standing or seating, to save time! You will NOT be able to enter at any Bridge and you will be directed to the correct Bridge via the walking routes around the exterior of the Stadium Island.”
The concert is also age-restricted, with no under-fives permitted to attend. Meanwhile, under-14s are not allowed access to the standing area and must have seated tickets. Those aged between 14 and 16 can only stand on the pitch if they are with an over-18.
Additionally, fans will not be allowed to carry bags bigger than A4, and there will be no left luggage facilities available at the London Stadium.
Earlier this year, People Watching became Fender’s third consecutive number one album in the UK and surpassed 100,000 sales within a week. In a four-star review, Far Out wrote of the triumphant new album: “People Watching is an album that does it all, showing each and every corner of Fender’s talent and ability, but especially shining a clear light on his unrivalled knack for boiling down huge topics into deeply personal, human stories.”
