Liam Gallagher slams “seriously fucked up” fan at Oasis’ Melbourne show

Liam Gallagher has hit out at an Oasis fan in attendance at their Melbourne gig on October 31st after someone set off a flare in the audience.

The Britpop group kicked off the Australian leg of their comeback tour on October 31st with the first of three shows in Melbourne. The show took place at Marvel Stadium, which hosted more than 50,000 fans of the Mancunian group.

As their set drew to a close, one particular fan in the audience had appeared to sneak a red flare past security. They set it off in the crowd during the massive hit, ‘Champagne Supernova’.

Video footage sees a fan waving the flare in the air and dancing with it in a circle, before throwing it backwards over their head and into the crowd into the floor section of the sold-out stadium. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Taking to X, Liam Gallagher was unafraid to say exactly what he thought of the incident, writing, “To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne.”

He finished off with a threat, noting, “You are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me.”

Security at the gig had been conducted, including thorough bag checks at the gate. It remains unclear how the flare got into the grounds. Victoria Police have said that no arrests have been made at this time. Marvel Stadium has yet to comment on the incident that led Liam to a fit of online rage.

The Melbourne show did not include their guitarist, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs; following the conclusion of their final Wembley Stadium shows in September, Arthurs confirmed he would be missing the forthcoming set of shows in South Korea, Japan and Australia to stay in the UK for treatment after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in January.

Elsewhere, Oasis have teased that this run of comeback dates will not be the last of their live performances. A British peer recently claimed that the band are set to play Knebworth House five times in 2026, though nothing is officially confirmed.
