Psych-infused indie favourites Khruangbin have released a new single titled ‘A Love International’. The track provides a first glimpse at their upcoming album, A La Sala, set to arrive this spring.
‘A Love International’ is classic Khruangbin, providing yet another reliable dose of twangy strings and understated grooves. It’s a song that seems far more suited to the warmer months than our current January blues, with excitement for summer bubbling beneath its surface.
Scott Dungate has directed a music video for the new single, which adds to the song’s sunny feeling. The accompanying visuals take place by the sea, following a sweet story of young love which prevails through chases and crowds of influencers.
The single release is also accompanied by an album announcement. Khruangbin are set to release their first full-length offering in four years, titled A La Sala, on April 5th, 2024 via Dead Oceans. The title of the record translates to To The Room.
Bassist Laura Lee Ochoa explained the personal meaning behind the album title, recalling, “‘A La Sala,’ I used to scream it around my house when I was a little girl, to get everybody in the living room; to get my family together. That’s kind of what recording the new album felt like.”
“Emotionally there was a desire to get back to square-one between the three of us,” she continued, “to where we came from – in sonics and in feeling. Let’s get back there.”
A La Sala is set to arrive on April 5th, 2024. ‘A Love International’ is out now. Watch the music video below.
