One of classic rock’s best-loved performers, Ann Wilson of Heart, has offered an update on her health following her cancer diagnosis in 2024.

The ‘Crazy On You’ group had to cut their tour short last summer so that Wilson could undergo treatment. However, they have been able to reembark on their global jaunt thanks to positive news regarding the frontwoman’s health.

The 74-year-old returned to the stage on February 28th and confirmed that she was “clear” of cancer and feeling well. Given what she has been through in the past 12 months, the concert was understandably concise at only 13 songs, and she performed largely from a wheelchair.

However, Wilson commented that she is feeling “really strong” following surgery. Speaking to People ahead of the comeback concert, she commented, “I’m really excited about it actually. I feel really strong. I’ve been preparing and all that, and I’m healthy.”

She offered up positive news, commenting, “I’m clear. I’m a little nervous because I haven’t done it in a year, but I’m there.” Thankfully, the concert went without a hitch and Heart plan to continue with the rest of their scheduled shows.

She said: “I’ve come from a really far away place to get up to the strength and energy you need to do it. I’m just really curious to see what I feel like when I walk out there. I think it’s just going to be great. I feel really empowered right now.”

She also commented that it wouldn’t have been possible without the fans. She explained, “I have felt that love all along”. Adding, “Whether it’s around a health issue or not, they’ve always been there for me and for us. And there’ve been ups and downs over all these 50 years. These people just seem to ride the waves along with us.”

While her health is still being closely monitored, she has finished her course of chemotherapy, and it is believed that she will not require any further surgery.
