Actor Hayley Joel Osment was arrested for public intoxication at a ski lodge in California on April 8th, 2025.
The actor, best known for his roles in Sixth Sense and Blink Twice, was also arrested for possession of an unspecified controlled substance. The police booked Osment after receiving a report regarding an individual in Mammoth Lakes, California.
Following his arrest, Osment has since been released, with Sergeant Jason Heilman confirming to People of the actor’s legal status, “He was booked and is no longer in custody.”
“Public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance are the charges related to the arrest,” Heilman also said to the publication.
The arrest took place at around 2pm local time on April 8th at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area after the police were alerted to his “unruly conduct” on the mountain.
At the time of writing, the case remains under investigation, and Osment has yet to be charged by local authorities. It’s also unclear if he will be charged later.
Osment is yet to comment on his arrest.
The actor has previously had skirmishes with the law. In 2006, when Osment was 17, he was injured in a car accident and pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana. Osment was sentenced to three years probation.
Earlier this year, Osment lost his home in the Eaton Fire during the wildfires that caused devastation across Los Angeles.
During an appearance on the Mentor Buffet podcast in February, Osment explained of his relationship with the property: “I had this very intense pandemic relationship that ended up going nowhere. Then things started picking up after the worst of the pandemic. Then there was the strike, which I totally supported, but that put everything on hold for a very long time. And then we’ve had some political upheaval and this house that had been my refuge during the pandemic was completely destroyed in the Eaton Fire.”
