Swedish rock group Ghost has released a new single, ‘Satanized’, the first to kickstart the latest frontman, Papa V Perpetua, from the upcoming album Skeletá.

The band first began teasing the next cycle last year, hinting at the inevitable lineup change through their movie, Rite Here Rite Now. Papa V’s name was then used for the first time in the announcement for Black Sabbath’s farewell concert, taking place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham.

They have now released the official music video for their new single, ‘Satanized’. The video officially introduces the new frontman, Papa V Perpetua, ready for the upcoming 2025 tour cycle. It is taken from the band’s upcoming fifth album, Skeletá, scheduled for release on April 25th via Loma Vista Recordings.

‘Satanized’ is a slightly slower-paced, melodic track with a suitably playful music video, weaving their signature themes of sacrifice and temptation before dramatically revealing Perpetua near the end. Alongside this is also The Satanizer, a first-of-its-kind video experience for fans to be “satanized”, allowing them to be morphed into the characters in the music video.

The band’s “sixth psalm,” as they dubbed it, will deviate from the previous “outward facing subject matter.” As a result, it will move to “render the distinct individual emotional vistas of each of its 10 songs in one-on-one fashion, at times as if in a dialogue with oneself in a mirror”, with a “singular collection of timeless, universal sentiments, all filtered through a prism of a uniquely personal point of view.”

Ghost will be officially kicking off their 2025 tour, aptly titled the Skeletour World Tour, this April. Dates will begin at Manchester’s AO Arena, with a first-ever headline concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and wrap up in Mexico city, with more dates to be announced in time.

According to the band, this tour will be “the most ambitious incarnation of the Ghost live ritual to date”, with plans to continue to push its audience beyond the monumental reach accrued by the previous smash that was the Imperatour in support of the previous record, Impera.
