Chappell Roan has named SZA as her dream collaborator and the former Glastonbury headliner is keen to get to business.

SZA soon responded, taking to her Instagram Stories on March 26th to share a snippet from the Call Me Daddy podcast where Roan made the revelation, writing, “Actually didn’t believe this quote when I saw it written til I saw it come out her mouth [just] now ’cause DEAD A– SAME.” She continued, “pls we must.”

It’s not the first time SZA has gushed over Roan online. Following her Lollapalooza show last summer, SZA shared on the singer’s Instagram post on her story, adding, “She makes me wanna keep making new music n art forever.”

While Roan’s appearance on the podcast has initially sparked rumours of a collaboration, it’s SZA who has been sparking popstar cross-over interest for quite a while. Not only has she expressed her appreciation for Roan publicly, but also shared her openness to collaborate with Taylor Swift in the near future.

“It’s so interesting to me,” she said during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “Every time she walks up to me or approaches me, I’m just like, ‘All right, this is happening, because that’s fully Taylor Swift’. I think what I mentioned was that I would love to write with her and love to build some things together.”

“I love her storytelling. She was open to it,” the ‘Kill Bill’ artist added. “I think she’s awesome. She’s so bossed up.”

In that same interview, SZA unsurprisingly named Roan in a list of artists she deeply admires, alongside Gracie Abrams, Lola Young, Doechii and Olivia Rodrigo. The latter an artist who will replicate her Sunday night Glastonbury headline slot at this year’s festival.

Meanwhile, Roan is set to headline Reading and Leeds Festival this summer in the United Kingdom alongside Bring Me The Horizon, Hozier and Travis Scott.
