HENRI PFR & MADISM share their ‘BRUISES’ ft. LONO)
Belgian hotshot Henri PFR has teamed up with young Dutch DJ/producer Madism for the touching new single ‘Bruises’. Featuring the wonderful vocals of LONO, it’s resulted in the opposite of a love story, namely a sentimental breakup experience packed in a melodic, ecstatic pop song. Out now on Spinnin’ Records.
Safe to say, Henri PFR is on fire. With last year’s hit record ‘No One Knows’ (and its precursor ‘Loving Myself’) fresh in mind, it’s clear the Belgian tastemaker is delivering a sound that strikes a chord with a wide, international audience. He knows how to get things moving with fresh grooves, while constantly bringing in tasty hooks, inventive songwriting, and strong vocalists.
For his newest effort ‘Bruises’ he’s done just that. He’s teamed up with Madism, one of Holland’s most up and coming producers in the last two years, known for remixing some of the biggest names in the industry, including Lewis Capaldi, Sam Smith, James Arthur, Dermot Kennedy, and JP Saxe.
It’s resulted in something quite special. ‘Bruises’ is, essentially, a breakup song, built around warm, sentimental guitar chords and the sultry vocals of Berlin-based singer-songwriter LONO. Evolving on this moody vibe, the record breaks out in a dramatic chorus, with subtle beats and tasteful synth chords supporting LONO’s outcry of emotions, beautifully underlining the sentimental message presented here.
It’s not like anything these two producers have released before. ‘Bruises’ isn’t a love story, neither is it a tune to rock dancefloors – this is the other side of life, portrayed in a beautiful slice of music. A pop song to hold close to your heart, wherever you are in these strange, confusing times.
“‘Bruises are the marks our sentimental breakups are leaving behind, the destructive side of love. I found it important to move away from a love story and dare experimenting a darker side. This song is really important to me. It reflects what’s sometimes hidden in a world where everything should be perfect on social medias. Dutch producer Madism was the key to finalize the track. He brought his aerial touch. I’m very happy with our first collaboration!” – Henri PFR
