The Future of ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’

The gripping journey of Hannah, Bailey, and Owen has reached a dramatic conclusion in the season 2 finale of The Last Thing He Told Me. Based on the acclaimed novels by author Laura Dave, the apple tv+ series has captivated audiences with its suspenseful narrative and emotional depth. As the credits rolled on the latest season, viewers were left with one burning question: will there be a third season?

At the time of publication, Apple TV+ has not officially renewed the series for a third season. While the show has garnered a dedicated fan base and significant popularity, the path forward remains uncertain. Both the first and second seasons were adapted directly from Laura Dave’s literary works. Because the author has not yet announced a third novel in the series, it remains unclear whether the streaming platform intends to continue the story beyond the source material.

A Stellar Cast

The series is anchored by a powerhouse cast, led by Jennifer Garner as Hannah. The ensemble also features Angourie Rice as Bailey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Owen, Augusto Aguilera as Grady, Judy Greer as Quinn, and Rita Wilson as Carol.

In an exclusive conversation regarding the show’s second season, Angourie Rice discussed the evolution of her character, Bailey, and the complex dynamics of trust within her family. “Bailey is questioning, ‘How does someone earn her trust once they’ve broken it?'” Rice explained. “I think that’s a really big question, especially with family members. What happens when that kind of implied constant loyalty is called into question?”

Bailey’s relationship with her stepmother, Hannah, has become so strong, so connected and so trusting over the past five years that she is rightfully suspicious of people who have betrayed her trust because Hannah never has.

Judy Greer also shared insights into the challenges of portraying the multifaceted character of Quinn. “I think it is challenging when I also want to ground Quinn,” Greer noted. “It’s important for me for this woman to be a human being. What I really wanted to find was a push-pull with how badly she wanted to have a relationship with Bailey.”

Where to Watch

For those looking to catch up on the mystery, all episodes from seasons 1 and 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me are currently available to stream on Apple TV+. As we await further updates, fans continue to speculate on whether the show will return to explore new, unwritten chapters in the lives of these complex characters.
