A spokesperson for the White House has responded to Bruce Springsteen tearing down the administration on his new single, ‘Streets of Minneapolis’.

In light of the recent killings of anti-ICE protestors Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis this month, Springsteen released ‘Streets of Minneapolis’ in their memory on January 28th.

Upon releasing the defiant track, Springsteen said of his political anthem, “I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis.”

‘The Boss’ continued, “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free, Bruce Springsteen.”

On the song, Springsteen calls out the actions of ICE and the wider Donald Trump regime, singing, “A city aflame fought fire and ice, ‘Neath an occupier’s boots, King Trump’s private army from the DHS, Guns belted to their coats, Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law, Or so their story goes.”

Additionally, Springsteen pointed the finger at US Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller and United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, accusing them of fabricating “dirty lies”.

Now, in a statement, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson has responded to Springsteen’s creation, claiming that the singer-songwriter is uninformed and defending the actions of ICE in Minneapolis.

She said (per Variety), “The Trump Administration is focused on encouraging state and local Democrats to work with federal law enforcement officers on removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from their communities – not random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information.”

Jackson continued, “The media should cover how Democrats have refused to work with the Administration, and instead, opted to provide sanctuary for these criminal illegals.”

Springsteen has been one of the most vocal critics of the Trump administration during his second term, especially on his European tour in 2025, which led to the president stating he “ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT” and claiming he’s “not a talented guy”.

Despite the threats, Springsteen has continued to speak his mind. During a surprise appearance in New Jersey earlier this month, he dedicated ‘The Promised Land’ to Renee Good and said, “If you believe you don’t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, send a message to this president as the mayor of that city has said, ICE should get the fuck out of Minneapolis.”
