Ethel Cain has apologised to fans after ending her concert early in Paris on October 18th.

During the fourth song of her set, ‘Nettles’, Cain abruptly left the stage, which led her band to finish it as an instrumental piece before they also departed. The venue confirmed the concert had ended 20 minutes later without providing an explanation.

Cain, who returned to the same venue on October 19th and performed a full set, later took to social media to explain the sudden ending of the concert to fans.

She wrote: “Hi Paris. My apologies for the show last night. I’ve been having a bit of a time lately and sometimes it unpredictably bleeds over onto the stage. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to finish the set but i’m looking forward to tonight’s show and I can’t wait to see all of you.”

Cain continued, “To everyone who attended last night, I apologize again for the disappointment and the planning that I’m sure went into you attending. It means a lot to me that you came and I’m sorry I let you down. Please contact your point of sale for full refunds.”

Earlier this year, Cain released her second album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, and has been on the road in Europe in support of the record throughout October, including five nights at the Eventim Apollo in London.

In a four-star review of Cain’s current tour, Far Out wrote: “Sure, Cain has hits, but overwhelmingly, her discography does not lend itself to an excitable live atmosphere. Finally, on this tour, she’s leaning into that.”

Cain’s European tour is set to travel through Germany this week, before further stops in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
