Song Jae-lim, South Korean actor, dead at 39

The South Korean actor Song Jae-lim was found dead at his home in Seoul earlier in the week. He passed away at 39 years old on November 12th.
There is limited information about how the actor passed away. Police have confirmed that they discovered his body in Seoul’s Seongdong Ward at midday on November 12th. He was found by a friend who was due to have lunch with the actor. There have yet to be any reports on how he died, but there is no sign of foul play, and a note was found at the scene.
Song had a successful career working in South Korea. He debuted in 2009 in the film Actresses, but his real breakthrough role occurred in 2012 when he starred in the drama Moon Embracing the Sun. His performance as a warrior loyal to the king increased his popularity as he starred in 20 episodes.
One of his longest-running performances was on the reality show We Got Married. He appeared in 38 episodes, which cemented him as a big name in South Korea and helped him wrack up fans around the country.
One of his last appearances was as the lead in an action-comedy film called Get Rich, directed by Yang Tae-jin. The movie will enter post-production in late September, so people will still be able to see Song Jae-lim perform in it.
While he was a popular actor, his family have asked for time to mourn him privately. They have confirmed that they will be holding a small funeral with just family and close friends so that they can say a proper farewell.
K-pop music and popular Korean drama series are no longer domestic successes. Korea is experiencing global success as its entertainment industry booms all over the world and has never been more recognised. However, despite the success that the industry is having, there is also a record of untimely deaths by celebrities, musicians and performers.
A few factors have been pointed to as a cause of these deaths, including the high pressure on stars to break into the mainstream and stay there. There is also the added pressure that comes with fame in general, such as the stress of being in the public eye and the brutal nature of social media. Celebrities often have their private lives intruded on and struggle to step away from the public eye once they have entered it.
Song Jae-lim was a talented and successful actor who will be missed by fans and those close to him.
